Today, we are a leader in the Mechanical Services industry providing plumbing, gasfitting, HVAC, and drain maintenance services across Alberta. Cougar has serviced millions of square feet of properties throughout more than 25 years in business and maintain sustainable buildings through strong performance and valued partnerships.

As a natural leader, he oversees our operations, ensuring seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Val is an invaluable member of Cougar’s staff who oversees everything - including office administration and field techs. She has been with Cougar for over 20 years and is a strong team leader who manages all office organization, dispatching of service calls, handling incoming calls/inquiries and everything you can think of - she does!
Rod Stagg
Founder & CEO
Rod has over 40 years of experience in the Mechanical Service industry including: various types of plumbing, HVAC, gasfitting, drain cleaning, etc. Rod manages a staff of twenty well trained employees while always putting his Clients first, he means what he says and works hard to instill his experience and values in his company’s day to day activities. Rod’s past time includes being a single father of two young men, Jeremy and Joel, 24 and 27 respectively, as well as coaching football and lacrosse in Calgary. He has taken pride in mentoring Calgary’s youth for 15+ years. Rod is also heavily involved with leadership roles in the Alberta Metis Nation as well as the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Affairs.
Scott Grobel
President
Scott is new to Cougar as of 2019, however he has been welcomed by staff with open arms. He has had a long and successful career in the mechanical industry as well as owning several small businesses over the years. He has sat on many boards in different associations across Alberta, and was the chairman for the Mechanical Service Contractors of Canada - MSCC for a number of years. He and Rod now work together to promote and expand Cougar's services and industry expertise across Alberta and the rest of Canada.
Titus Fernandes
Roofing Manager
Titus is responsible for all roofing related requests and services. He is a journeyman air-conditioning and refrigeration mechanic with over thirty years of experience and has over two decades of plumbing and heating experience in the industry.
